I am a 31-year old baal teshuva, married with 2 children, learning in kollel full time. I've been addicted to masturbation and internet pornography since age 15.

Around 2 years ago I came to realize that I'm addicted and that I cannot stop on my own.

Since then I've tried to stop in many different ways - praying, nedorim, installing filters, trying to get to 90 days (never made it past 30), talking to accountability partner, reading about 12-steps (Big Book, White Book), reading chizuk stories on GYE - all to no avail.

Finally I have come to realize that nothing is going to help me besides for attending a 12-step group meetings and working the steps. I know that there is an existing SLAA group in Yerushalayim, but time (11 am Friday), place (French Hill) and my guess that the group mostly consists from non-religious people struggling with more than pornography addiction, don't leave it as a viable option for me.

I know that there are phone groups, but they are not good for me for 2 reasons:
1) They are in US, thus the times are inconvenient, also, being a family man, it's very difficult to commit to a daily session.
2) I have a feeling that phone meetings, especially long-distance, would not produce the same effect as face to face meetings with real people.

I think time has come to create a real 12-step group for people like ourselves, facing our particular problem. As far as I gathered from the forums, there are quite a few of us in Yerushalayim.

So I'm looking for:

1) People who are interested to join me.
2) A sponsor willing to guide us through 12 steps.
3) Location where we can meet one evening a week, in Jerusalem, ideally centrally located.

Please post on this thread or PM me directly if you can help me with any of the above, or any other useful ideas/suggestions.

Maybe I didn't read your poist right, but I went to a few SA meetings is Yerushalayim a few years ago and knw that there already are SA meetings in Yerushalayim/beit Shemesh/etc...

I'm confused about the situation in Israel. Is there a known, recommended SA group for frum people with regular meetings in Yerushalayim? If so, please tell me about it! If not, there should be!

Me and PostalServicio have started a new "group" in Yerushalayim a month ago. We've been having weekly meetings and it has been going well so far.

I am told that there will very soon be iy"H, a rather significant meeting of all the SA groups in Eretz Yisroel. I think it will be in Beit Shemesh.

I also have an SA contact guy in EY. I sent his phone # to one of the fellows on this thread a few weeks ago...has anyone used it? What did he tell you?
