I'm looking to create a filter for a flip phone that will allow the GYE app, either from scratch or by getting a filter company to allow it.
I'm mainly making this for yeshiva bochurim who don't have access to GYE in yeshiva.
If your interested in helping, either by helping to write up a nusach to send to filtering companies, or if have you have experience with rooting and/or editing android roms, please reach out to me.

Have you reached out to existing kosher flip phone companies to see if tey have a way to add it in?

How may bochurim (or parents) are going to specifically purchase a GYE friendly but otherwise extremely limited device. Basically announcing your iintentions. Might be something that you'd have to 'sell' to yeshivas and they could lend them out as-needed. 

Kosher flip phones don't do much. If GYE is on there, some bored bochurim might use it in a negative way (people already do, but there could be many more).


I understand your specific need for this, but as a marketable item, you'd need to find the appropriate distribution and clientele.

Looks like I wasn't clear enough.
I want to build my own filter for one of the standard, popular, flip phone models out there, and have an option to allow the GYE app.
I would also make some sort of system where people would have to get approved to have the GYE app allowed. Maybe involve GYE higher-ups, maybe involve some of the senior oilam on this forum, maybe something else.

Might be worth a few emails to the filter companies for ideas ans options.

I dont think its b'etzem so hard to filter a phone.
Many bochurim know how to take the browser off of phones, but to make a secure filter you have to mess around with the parts of the system that can be used to bypass that.

I have experience with rooting and have dabbled a drop with custom roms. I don't have the time to help on such a project.
The biggest hurdle is getting the original files for these flip phones. It is not a one size fits all. Each phone and version will need a custom one. 
The easiest option would be to use a MDM on the phone. There are some free options available. For example Sonim has their own MDM which you can allow only certain apps and block the browser.
