I personally joined because:

1. I pay for “live” pornography, and that is the most destructive of things for me right now

2. I would also like to quit “free” pornography in general

3. I am a little too good at computers, so filters hardly keep up with my Taives… unfortunately

welcome on board. from your user name i should have figured out that you are very into computers!

you will find many people on the forums that have struggled with the things that you mention. there are lots of tools and lots of advice available here.

I will address your third point. Filters are not a deterrent for someone who is looking for pornography. They may slow down the process, especially for someone that is not computer savvy, but eventually if someone is looking they will find a way to get what they want. Filters are still important but they are secondary at best for someone in your position.

I assume that you already know this.

The real work is within yourself. If you are heavily invested in staying clean then you stand a much greater chance in being successful in this struggle. Please continue to post here and let us know what you find that works and what does not work for you (besides filters not working!). the more feedback we get the easier it will be to provide proper suggestions.

Yes I do realize that…

What hasn’t worked is Accountable2You. I simply use the iOS YouTube app (which it can’t quite monitor), or just disable monitoring for a bit, and blame a technical issue when asked about it. I’m thinking of getting a refund and uninstalling it because it’s money, and if it won’t help, then why pay for it…?

It also sounds like you don't have someone "appropriate" set as an ally/family organizer. I was in this situation not too long ago, I had a filter managed by someone that I could take off by saying I want to change the filter settings. So it wasn't really a filter and it defeated the purpose of it. Do you have a close friend that you talk to with about this issue or at least a friend that knows about your struggles? I set one of my friends, who I told about my struggle pretty recently, as the new manager of my filter and he's been pretty good at managing it so far. Before it used to be my mom but that didn't really help. 

I recommend that you look into the post I linked in my signature, although the post does need some updating. I think the best route for everyone is to not have a browser on their phone at all, unless it's absolutely necessary, and in such a case the covenanteyes browser is the only browser you should use. This is just for mobile devices though, and that's the conclusion I reached after having access to an iphone with a browser for a very long time.

Just to throw some basic ideas that we have on GYE
1. It is great that you want to work on yourself. Even so, the articles can give you a stronger push, and many ideas of staying clean.
2. The 90 day chart. Do not get scared from the high number. Create a goal of three days, a week, or whatever you need. Each number is a huge success.
3. If you do not have someone you are talking to. You can find a mentor on the partner program. As long as you keep up, it creates accountability. And it makes the fight easier if you are not alone. You can really use the forum also, it is just less personal. But reporting to everyone and hearing everyone's support can be very helpful.

I know there's a lot of talk here about filters but I've found for myself that the nisayon of a smart phone that I always carry around with me is too great. 
As a result I went to TAG and locked the app store (I can go to TAG to install apps), disabled the browser and only kept more 'productive' apps like WhatsApp. Just something to consider but doing a whole factory reset to 'break a filter', is something that Baruch Hashem I haven't done yet. 
If I need more general internet we have a Mac that has accountability software and is kept in a drawer.

TAG seems something I should really look into. Do they charge to add apps?

​Also: what I really would like, is someone to help me setup a comprehensive (and editable, of course, as such is life) white list, for an iOS device.

TAG is free. Just expect to have to wait your turn.

The way I have it set up is that TAG has my screen time passcode on their computers. When I come in they unlock the app store for me, I download apps and then they relock my phone. I guess it could work the same way for a white list => trial and error. The guys there might have a list though.

You can of course set up your own white list on your iphone using screen time but that's subject to abuse. I'm trying something similar on my work laptop using browser extensions since I constantly have to look up things online in the course of the work day. 1 week clean so far...
