Hi all

I was watching the forum for the last couple of days as I am porn addict for the last 20 years. Reason I am writing today is, last 12 months my addiction was more or less controlled after I installed K9 on my PC. I really believed that for me ( not a IT man ) it will be hard to by pass the filter, and have tried all this time to bypass it but I have not been able to see any P video but today I have discovered that you can disable it very easily. Last couple of hours I spent on porn sites r"l.

any suggestion what I can do ? (webchaver is not for me)

Welcome to GYE!

Filters are a tool, they are not the solution. They are a stopgap measure.

If we are working on ourselves and the underlying issues, they may help. If not, they won't.

The fact that during this year with the filter, you kept trying to see if you can bypass it, kind of shows that you were not working on the underlying issues.

Be honest with yourself. What do you need to do to move forward?

Hatzlacha!

skeptical. agree with you that I need do deal with the underlying problem but fact is I did not watch porn for about a year with the help of K9 and if I don't find a solution to prevent me bypassing k9 or until I get cured from my addiction I will be without a filter, and this is not good for me.

Why is webchaver not for you?

Re: First time caller 02 Sep 2013 19:22 #218216

hey welcome godgedud!
we are all in the same boat, but only difference is the strength of will to leave this stage, i am an IT guy, in Mather of fact thats my parnusah, there is no filter that i am not able to boycut!
and i wrote already scripts for that.
so in my case, filter was never my solution, i am an addict for 20+ years, i started now to clean myself just because i got to the extreme bottom, and my will woke up and i decided to clean myself and focus on my clean days, and i added a friend of mine for security.
so here is what i did, and it might help you only if you have a real will to stop, if not then AlexEliezer is right, Porn is so awesome and sweet. Why stop?

if you figured out why to stop, then here you go

1) you cant be admin on your computer, admin should be your wife or chaver only they are allowed to have admin rights on your computer.
2) password on K9 should be different then the admin pass on your PC, and Email should be your wife's or friend.
3) admin needs to login to his or her account at least once a month to check if OK.
4) K9 must block at least Commonly Blocked Categories. which includes proxy avoidance and so on.

if you follow my steps then there is almost impossible to boycut!

wish you all the best, get on the boat and start trucking! yes boats can truck! only here at GUE

Thank you all for kind words and advice.
גענוג געווען I don't have the password for my k9 filter and I can still bypass the filter in less than a minute. K9 is usless at the current state.

Ok, so you put a filter on your computer. That is something EXTERNAL.

Basically you put a lock on the stuff.

But because you didn't work on yourself and the reasons you have the urge to get at the garbage, you have been hacking away at the lock all year, desperate to get at it.

Finally, the lock has given way and now you're looking for a new stronger lock.

But all locks will fall apart if you keep hacking at them.

The problem aren't the locks.

The problem is that you are not working on YOURSELF and the ISSUES that are making you go CRAZY for the garbage.

What are you doing to work on YOURSELF?

READ OVER MY POST!
YOU CANT BYPASS K9 IF YOU DONT HAVE ADMIN RIGHTS!, when i say admin rights i am not talking from K9, i am talking from your PC, who is the admin on your PC? not K9.

you should get restricted by an admin on your PC, so your account will be as a guest, and limit privileges at this way you will not be able to bypass K9.

if so, i am ready to manage your PC, you aint gonna get around me besides you are an IT specialist

I think he means that he found a hole in the filter that doesnt need a password to get into. There's a block option that let's you block sites without having the filter, just block the site.

But skeptical is right, all this isn't going to solve anything, there's always going to be a way to fall. The only way to really end up stopping is to change yourself, because the circumstances will probably never be able to stop you.

So are you actually ready to give it up and stop?

Also why can't you get accountibility software?

Re: First time caller 02 Sep 2013 23:07 #218255

again, i posted 4 rules if he wants to quit, and i will say it another time.

if you figured out why to stop, then here you go

1) you cant be admin on your computer, admin should be your wife or chaver only they are allowed to have admin rights on your computer.
2) password on K9 should be different then the admin pass on your PC, and Email should be your wife's or friend.

4) K9 must block at least Commonly Blocked Categories. which includes proxy avoidance and so on.

if you follow my steps then there is almost impossible to boycut!

inastruggle you didnt looked on rule number 4!
now if he wants just locks and then try to hack them, yes you are right it will take him a lot of time to get around it, but if he followed all 4 rules then his wife will catch him at the end. and then what? the 4 rules is build that you cant boycut and lust on your PC without his wife or chaver knowing about it! so if he has no problem with it, then it means he has no problem with acting out so in this case AlexEliezer is right, Porn is so awesome and sweet. Why stop? did you have any reason?

After over 30 years of acting out, I discovered this site and learned that I am an addict. I was then confronted with the very uncomfortable news that the only way I was going to get my mind and my life back was to give up the sweetest, most perfect, most important thing in my life...lust.

Not porn. That's just high-octane lust.

Rather, I would have to give up lusting in all its forms. I learned to guard my eyes from my constant supply of everyday lustful sights. I learned to redirect my mind from fantasies and images. I later learned that I even need to give up lust in the bedroom. Not sex. Just lust.

Now I've begun to get back into real life, real friendships, real relationships, real pleasures, real dveykus.

Porn and the associated masturbation was just the tip of the iceberg.
