There are many relevant pieces in R' Biderman's Torah Wellsprings Vayeira 5782, But here are two that jumped out at me

1 He quotes the Bal Shem Tov and others that, at the time of the akeida, Hashem took away Avraham's feeling of connection to Him. The Avodas Yisrael says this is alluded to in the pasuk "Vayera es hamakom merachok", he saw HaMakom far away. All the levels he had worked on, the connection of Hashem culminating in nevuah, gone. That was part of the test. When things get hard, to lose that connection, and to realize you aren't being abandons, and to continue and do it anyway. He doesn't talk about why it happens, but we know wit Avraham it was to make him more perfect. For us, maybe it's to ensure, or to sow, we can handle it even in hard times.

----
He brings the Or Lashalom b'shem the Chozeh Milublin, that the phrase "ayil acher" the other ram, refers to the other akeidos, the ones we do every day. When we overcome our own natures, that's an akeida. R' Biderman says further, that during Rosh Hashanah we as k that Hashem remember the akeida today, which can also mean, the akeidas we do nowadays.
