Encyclopedia on Kedusha
By "Kedusha"
About four years ago, Rav Kalman Krohn, ZT'L of Lakewood, published a two-volume set of Seforim which is literally an "encyclopedia" on the topic of personal Kedusha (to quote Rav Dovid Cohen's haskama). The two volumes contain over 2,500 pages in 78 chapters, and the bibliography contains approximately 600 sources!
The name of the set is "Vehiskadishtem" and the subtitle is "Midas HaYesod." It's part of a larger series entitled "Yisroel v'Oraysah." Information on how to purchase the Seforim can be found below.
Of note are a number of chapters in the second volume on many not-so-well-known Tikunim, such as having Kavana when saying a Bracha Rishonah and Bracha Achronah, reciting Birchas HaMazon from a siddur/bentcher, and washing Mayim Achronim right before bentching and not being mafsik.
The set has Haskamos from, among others, Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Vosner, Rav Sternbuch and, as noted above, Rav Dovid Cohen. Rav Cohen writes something incredible (translated): "I have no doubt that through [the author's] tremendous effort to write and publish this set, he has, by doing so, rectified the sin of this generation regarding Shemiras HaBris (Tikein ba'zeh cheit'o shel Hador b'shemiras HaBris)."
Speaking of "incredible," Rav Krohn writes at the end of his Hakdama (p. 80) that if these Seforim (which he obviously worked on for many years) save even ONE man from being pogeim even ONE time, or if [even] one man takes ANY inspiration from what is quoted from our Chachamim, all his efforts would have been worthwhile! (translated and emphasis added).
A sequel to this amazing work, called "Yisroel Kedoshim," was published several months ago.
