I've heard from R' Yisroel Reisman (possibly quoting from R' Tzadok, though I'm not certain) that the face contains all the sefiros of the body - and the mouth is the "yesod" of the face.

Not sure I got all the kabbalistic terms correct, that's not my area of expertise, but that's the basic idea.

R Gedalya Shor (Or GEdalYahu Noach) brings from a ramban regarding "chachmas Hapartzuf". If you ever meet the kaluver Rebbe, watch and learn. He explains that one's level of spiritual connection is nikar in his hands and face. Does the line "pnie Hado Kipnei Hakelev" ring a bell? Well the dor hamabul was so distant to hashem that they are nimshal to a monkey, when compared to a man (who has a nefesh sichlei elokis, over the simple earthly chiyus of an ape).  This doesn't realy help the orginal question.

Additionaly, I was once flipping through the shla hakadish, and found a reffrence to kids going off the derech. He says that the roots of that trend, where implanted by the goyishe cleaning lady who sang giyis lulabies to the child. The koach of Music, is so powerfull, that in addition to having the capability or arousing a person to ruchnius, kindiling the courage of old-time soldiers to march to their death in battle (b4 the colonials developred gorrila warfare), and instilling within a person feelings of simcha and sorrow, apprehension and fear.....in addition to all this. It can be pogeim his neshama for years to come. Heshem Yerachaim alainu, VyotziAinu MeaFeila Leorah Umishibud legiulah....Venomar Lefanav SHIR CHADASH.

                              AS YASHIR....

In the Sefer Matnas Chayim from Rav Matisyahu Salamon Shlit"a in the name of the Alshich Hakodosh:
We find at Acheshveirosh's party that he tried to entice Klal Yisroel with all the different senses, Taste, Sight (He quotes a Midrash that there were pritzus'dige waitresses for the men and vice-versa.), Touch (all those comfortable silky couches...), and Smell (fragrances). There was NO music because music can be used for whatever the LISTENER chooses. Even if they would have played their songs, the jews could still use it to be nisorer to teshuvah.

Just curious: I read that sefer many years ago and it didn't help me. Quite the contrary.....
Did it help you? ...and if it did, in what way(s)? Please do not answer if it'd be uncomfortable at all!

ok - I turned around several times...got pretty dizzy...

i am laying here splattered on the floor, the starts are spinning around my head, does that count?

oh wait a minute... I think i am starting to get it...

you wanted the room to spin around... like VERTIGO, right?
but we are discussing the disease of the EGO - called:

INVERT-EGO...but the difference is this is a spiritual invertion, where the ego thinks it is in control...

I think I am going to pass out now from all the spinning...but I think I am getting it.

still lost - but starting to get it.
