I heard a nice, short idea:
We should have extra Kavanah during the bracha of מקבץ נידחי עמו ישראל. The נדחי עמן ישראל are like our זרע that we once wasted, and we are thanking Hashem for gathering our זרע, i.e. Hashem helped us in our path of no longer spreading out the children of Israel.
The 3rd letter in the words
Mekabetz Nidchei Amo are the letters of one of Hashem's names:
Ches Beis Vav (נידחי is written without the first yud). The Kabbalists explain that this Name refers to Hashem's 'correcting' the זרע that we wasted.
These same three letters (in their proper sequence) are also the next-to-last letters of the words
yachad mei'arba kanfos earlier in that same bracha in Shemona Esrei.
