Was looking at the Chanukah lights last night and remembered that there is some chassidus which talks about this as related to tikkun einayim and shmirat ha brit...
I think Rebbe Nachman explicitely makes the connection between the 8 lights and our senses (2xeyes = sight, 2xears = sound, 2xnostrils = smell, 1xmouth = taste, 1xskin = touch) Keep em coming if you have more sources on this or any other connections to the Chanukah lights
