The following moshol is related in ילקוט לקח טוב. It is very nice and in recovery means a lot more to me.

A man sees a young boy on the beach holding a flag and looking out to sea.

“What are you looking for?” he asks.

“I am waiting for a boat to come past and then I will wave my flag, and the captain will toot his horn” replies the boy.

“Ah, you mean one of the little boats that pass every so often?”

“No” says the boy confidently “I mean the huge ocean liner that will pass soon”

The man looks at the boy laughing and says half jokingly “how can you be so sure that the captain will toot his horn?”

To which the boy replies “BECAUSE THE CAPTAIN IS MY FATHER!”

Yes, HaShem is the King, but the King is our Abba.

Simply beautiful.

Even though i have heard this moshol before, it is very meaningful to hear it again in a recovery context.

"Tatty... I am waiting patiently for your toot. I keep waving, in the meanime..."

You'll find it also in Gadi Pollack's latest book, with beautiful artwork.
