In  answer to the question why Succos is in Tishrei if it's zecher l'yetzias mitzrayim, the holy Aruch haShulchan writes; "Yom Kippur is the day when Moshe brought down the luchos and found that the jews sinned with the golden calf, hashem in his endless love to his children turned that very day into a day of atonement for generations to come and commanded the jews of the time to build him a mishkan so that he can come down and dwell amongst them. To commemorate this- right after Yom Kippur hashem tells us, 'I know you have sined, but you are forgiven, and not only are you forgiven but you're invited to sit in shade of my wings- in the succah!"
"Feel the hugs" is an understatement!
And with such a relationship with hashem, is it a wonder that "the jews keep on rocking"?
