I always find it interesting* to see how people refer to the issues at hand. Some people cringe at merely mentioning anything. Others are much more liberal. Some people prefer to use Hebrew/Lashon Hakodesh word, while others find using english terms to hold less of a guilt association. Another group seems not to care less about the terminology, instead they are much more worried about tripping internet filters.

I herby motion that henceforth we adapt a common terminology that defines the essence of our struggles: SPAM.

SPAM is §exual Addiction, P٥rn, and uoıʇɐqɹnʇsɐW. SPAM is symbolically something that nobody wants, and we all need filters and other methods to keep it away. SPAM is also a filter friendly term. And considering how closely intertwined these three are, we should have one comon term for all of them. Did you know that SPAM comes in a can?

Help prevent SPAM!

*Note: I don't find the issues themselves amusing (chas v'shalom), rather I tend to (over) analyze the words and language constructs people use to express themselves

To be honest, not everybody here is suffering with the same symptoms of the addiction, although we all have it in one form or another. I personally find it difficult to write or even read the words that are frequently thrown around this site. I don't have Tainas, and I've obviously seen, read, and heard much worse, but I guess the spark of kedusha that was left in my Neshama has me still feeling dirty and uncomfortable using certain words. It's strange how such an insignificant thing like terminology, especially after all I've done, would be a sensitive issue to me. If you look through my posts you will consistently find terms like "The addiction, intimacy, self pleasuring, fantasizing, unclothed.........."

If we believe - as I think we do - that our Chitzoniyus will be Meorer our Pnimiyus, then it might be a good idea to work on refining our speech - and text - which may help our bodies to follow suit.

And if SPAM works for you, so be it!!!!

Hatzlocha!!!
I am special
I was chosen for this special mission.
I must succeed.
Klal Yisroel needs me.
Hashem needs me.

I avoid even those.    In MY thread you will find: Yetzer Horah, urge, struggle, nisayon, etc.

Only fairly recently, after being on GYE for over a year, was I finally able to get myself to mouth some of 'the words'! This is even though I KNOW all the terms & slang words which 'they' use...  :-[
