Just wanted to inform the olam that I am officially done with college and will be in Eretz HaKodesh in a couple weeks, learning in yeshiva. This is such a relief, and I would like to thank the Ribbono Shel Olam for bringing me to this point. I hope to get siyata dishmaya from my new kadosh environment in conquering this yetzer hara. College is a real killer.

I must share with everyone the vort R' Wolfson told me ...... I had started college and asked him for advice. He told me ...... the following:

We say in the Haggada on Pesach: Vayagar sham, melamed shlo yardu.... ella lagur shenemar: Lagur baaretz banu ki ain mireh... etc.
Question is, what is the Baal Haggada telling us more than the pasuk already says? it says openly that they were 'vayagur', so what are we proving by bringing another pasuk of 'lagur baaretz banu"? What does it add that we didn't already know, and how does it prove that they planned to stay only temporarily?

He answered, that its the end of the pasuk... where the brothers say to Paroh that they came lagur since they did not have pasture for their sheep, that is the clincher. Can you imagine telling the President  or King that we are here only because we have no choice?

But that was their mehalech... to repeat openly and often that they are here out of necessity, not out of desire. Even to Paroh. and that proved they descended to Mitzrayim without the intention of staying.

kutan.

You aren't celebrating the graduation in the same manner as most college graduates. You are excited over that fact that you are finally able to be in Yeshiva full-time. This calls for a hearty...

AT: Wow. Mazal tov for surviving the college campus environment. It is SO MUCH more challenging than back when I attended (ancient lil ole me). Freed of that nisayon, I daven that you go far in life in every way.

But ZS, I've got to explain: the y'h not only has protekzia, he actually WORKS for TSA. I think he does the pat-downs....

Thanks guys. I was hoping the Y'H wouldn't make it past customs...But now I know why the "geographical cure" doesn't work.

Mazal Tov!!
I am not big enough to not do something I WANT to do because I know it is wrong, but I've been around long enough not to want to do many things, even though they are really enticing at the first glance.

MAZEL TOV!!! I wish you much hatzlocha in Yeshiva.
After having been in college and then learning for a while I have a few suggestions that you may wish to take with you:
1) Never forget me'ayin basa!  Think about how much you struggled in your former surroundings every single day before you enter the beis hamedrash and use it as fuel to not take advantage of a single day.  One of the tactics of the YH is to try to let you forget how hard you worked to get to where you are and to make time pass you by without taking in all that you can.  You have a zechus that I, as well as many others, would give a lot for.  Don't chas veshalom let it pass you by (time is yeshiva can really fly unless you grab onto it).
2)Yeshiva can be extremely busy and another one of the tricks of the yetzer harah there is to get you so wrapped up in what you have to do and accomplish (the sugya or shiur etc) that he tries to make you forget to work on your addiction.  Take some time every day to introspect and learn mussar and work the steps (or whatever you have been doing to work on it until now)
I wish you a lot of hatzlocha and am really excited to hear the great news!
