Wow. Heavy.

I believe, of course, that it's not just goyim who can be born again.

Out of the valley of the shadows of death, and all that, eh?

whenever i hear 'valley of death' i get this insane image of skeletons standing up and walking out of the valley like that navi-dude had the nevuah of... i forget who maybe Yirmeyahu? dunno....
or alternately this could just be a reflection of watching Pirates of the Carribean as a kid.

well, let's put it this way - mentally i'm definitely still holding somewhere around 12

in years - i saw pirates with my brother who was about 12 at the time - and i'm a decade his senior
i think i was 12 when i first went on the disney ride though (is that still around?)

Now starring Dovid HaMelech as Disney's Carribean Pirate captain? Now I'll NEVER fall asleep tonight?!!

Aargh, as a pirate might say.

The problem, of course, is that feeling sorry is often a lot easier than changing....

Rage / David

That song is right on the mark. I wish you the healing that allows you to say it in person, mean it from the heart, and live it from the neshama.

Yes; you, and He, can.

Hey Rage (or do you prefer David?)

I've been following this thread for the past few weeks. I'm just a beginner & myself bobbing in the waves of lust and looking for that light of sanity (i.e. just started with 12-steps).

I really connect to how you've been describing your struggle - in a real, raw personal way - and think your head is really in the right place (& you're headed in the right direction).

May Hashem grant you (and us all) much success in step-work and recovery. Have a great day!

I'm sorry, bro...but you know what you need to do - say fell, shmell, and get up. Not because it wasn't bad, but because that's the best way to get back on the recovery truck.

And maybe also start realizing that you, of all people, don't have to give in to the lust machine

Hey fellows

Rage doesn't need advice he knows all the lingo and can repeat it back to you chapter and verse (maybe even with citations). A little empathy probably would help.

All he needs to do is get back on the truck. Besides a few days clean anf a little fall isn't all that bad, think of your batting average!

If only the truck had seat belts, or even airbags. Otherwise, the ride on the truck can feel a little unsteady sometimes. Perhaps it just takes a little time riding to get used to it.
