Listen, leave Johnny Cash out of this one. Sitting for an hour on a train ride and thinking about how crappy lust is? That's no way for a nice jewish boy like you to be meandering through King's County!

OK....it's better than the alternative, sure...and it's really, really better than the other alternative....but my wish for you is that our gunslinging merchant parole-Officer up in the sky helps us all spend our time doing something more fun than thinking about how bad off we'd be if were were out there 'accoutrement-hunting'.

There are so many more fun things we can do on a train, like reading stuff from Arthur Conan Doyle; planning where we are going now and what we are to do when we get there and asking Hashem to help us with each of the things we are supposed to do there; trying hard to count the number of lights that flash by in the tunnels (not easy)...(especially out loud); trying to actually rip through shnayim mikra v'echad targum for a change; reviewing the latest daily dose of dov puree (hah); Thinking through a gratitude list for our stuff; closing our eyes and trying to guess what nationality the guy sitting next to us is - by smell!...and lots of other engaging things like that.

C'mon, there are plenty more useful things to get busy with than putting out fires, no?

Really though, you must be doing some tiny little thing right lately (only a really tiny little itsy bitsy thing, probably) and I understand it's all about where we need to be right now.

Just a thought.
