Ummm...about 'good falling':

If I could really be 'out there' and able to enjoy porn and masturbation without any resultant insanity and serious price to be payed, I would probably be out there right now.

Nix that...not 'probably' - definitely.

Am I ashamed of that? Not sure. I am an addict and the only reason I actually had to quit was because I had to quit, not because I am 'good'. If that disqualifies me from being considered a y'rei Shomayim according to anyone on GYE, I don't care. It's the truth, which is chosamo shel HKB"H.

And that's good enough for me.

May it be Hashem's Will that the above fact will stop some guys who already do, from ever referring to me as 'tzaddik', again. Amen.

Tons of Shabbosdikeh love,

Dov

I have a folder on my desktop for Rage's good posts unfortunately it's still empty (Sorry I didn't mean that) actually that last post was spot on.

As for dov, you're full of cr*p, no matter what you say you're a tzaddik in my book.

If you call fatter than the Manhattan telephone directory "still empty," then I couldn't agree more!
Just as an alcoholic needs to avoid that first sip, a lust addict needs to avoid that first slip.Slip today? No way! ;)Fall today? No way, Jose'!

How about forgetting about the three seconds in front of our faces and focusing on what G-d wants for us?

Exactly - so take what you can get.

For me, even if not every day was as great as I would have liked, the more distant I got from the garbage, the more clearly i was able to see that it was garbage. And as always, staying clean is always worth it.

@Dov.

Hi Dov.

God is the ultimate goal... but in those 3 seconds, its like drowning..
if is wise they will call out to God for help -

if not they just have to wave their arms, and desperately pray that God send someone to help them.

I heard a good vort from this weeks parsha.

God says to Moshe - to everyone of a heart of wisdom, I'll give wisdom.

so the question is - where does the original Wisdom come from?

I heard 3 answers:

1. yireh shaymayim
2. ratzon
3. effort

when a person puts in the above, Hashem gives them a gift wisdom!

do you think the same holds true addictions? (if we replace wisdom with Recovery! )

Where does the first recovery come from?

Seems that if a person increases their Yireh Shaymayim, has the Ratzon, and is willing to put in the effort, then Recovery will come to them as a gift, too

"It's never a bad time for taking a cheap shot!"

- Marvin Gaye

(just kidding, maybe he said it maybe not, but he got shot by his dad, so he probably was that kind of guy!)

I think there's definitely something to be said for the realization that while we may not be sure about god, we're certain of one thing - that turning to Him is better than turning to Lust.

Don't think R' RAge meant he isn't sure about G-d, I think he's quite sure on a rational level, it's just so hard to really live that way, sigh.

And Dov, I should adopt that as my motto.
