Finally (I hope!), if someone chooses to ask a Sheilah in this area, he should do himself a favor, and ask someone who has a very good understanding of addictions in general, and this addiction in particular.

Which leads me to a suggestion: The time has come for GYE to provide training for Rabbonim.
Just as an alcoholic needs to avoid that first sip, a lust addict needs to avoid that first slip.Slip today? No way! ;)Fall today? No way, Jose'!

excellent idea

i would also suggest we might as well get some rabbonim as moderators or at least as a rabbinical board

GYE does have a Rabbinical Board.  However, I don't envision the Rabbanim moderating the forum anytime soon.

In my opinion, Dov is the only one qualified to pasken such a sheilah. If anyone has such a sheilah, I would tell him to speak to Dov by phone for a little while (before Shabbos, of course) and Dov will help him decide if it's "mutar" for him or not  ;D

I think that's why the Adam Gadol refused to Paskin it!

It turns out that I am actually the biggest misnagged to this guy, Dov. (Even bigger than my mother-in-law!) :o

So there.

So, I am a chosid of Guard, and he is a chosid of Reb b, and...

Truly I have been a sandek already (I did it because Yesod Yosef writes that it is a tikun for hz"l R"l, and i really thought that it might 'do the trick'!...finally after 17 more years of screwing up I finally did start to get sober....so maybe it did help! ???)

Actually, about the mohel part, I have always wanted to see if it really is possible to do bris in the backseat of a Cadillac sedan deVille. (Anybody here old enough to remember that one?)

Have a nice day, fellow knuckleheads.

It was a Lincoln Continental Town Car. And it was a Saturday Night Live take-off of the "slice a diamond" original commercial. And rather antiSemitic at that, as I remember.

Maybe you're referring to using the backseat of a Cadillac to get things started about 9 mo and 8 days earlier?

You are naughty, indeed....but have a very good memory. So we'll let it go, this time.
