this is a public service announcement:

did you ever come across the word 'kichsaa' here on GYE and wonder what it means?
i came across it many times and wondered what it is, maybe some Israeli slang or something.

reb Ovadia on the forum enlightened me. if you want to write the word s h i t a, like the hebrew word for opinion or view, then the word automatically changes to kichsa when you post it. try typing it (without the spaces) and hit 'preview' and you will see. obviously it is to avoid use of profanity-like words.

One must not confuse kishka which mean wrapping with the stuff inside. In days of yore or in da heim the wrapping was from the animal. You or your bubbe could get both chicken and meat kiska. Meaning it was wrapped in that kind of intestine. The inside had meat also.

Now the outside is plastic and inside in flour.

No wonder we lack spirit and we have so many problems.
