I was zoche to have a conversation with the principal of a respected and well know yeshiva. As much as he may know about p----, and his students admit that he does. His hasagah (grasp) of technology, leave him in the dark when it comes to protecting, and monitoring his students.
During the course of our conversation, I provided him with detailed instruction how to block the internet entirely, in addition to getting the point across that there are filtering options available (for those bachrim who haven't yet been caught watching p---). He admitted to being somewhat at a loss, with regard to a specific internet download program called "shutter bug" "flutter bug". Sadly i didn't have a chance to write it's name down, however whomever knows what it is, i need your help. It dowloads videos directly off the internet, bypassing the browser.
1. I have no ipod. I have a zen mp3 player.
2. I do not want an ipod, for hashkafa reasons.
3. I want to compile all available information, for the sole purpose of giving it to Yeshivot. If we has such a list- especially with a GYE logo on the letterhead, we would have an easy way of spreading the word among mechanchim. (obviously only with rishus from GUARD).
4. OBVIOUSLY you shouldn't post the loopholes on this thread, since we don't want to be machshil everyone. I have a handful of emails, all linked to one central account, so please email it to whichever one you may know (or is displayed on my profile)
Whatever you may be posting on the thread should obviously not provide new loopholes for anyone reading it.
