Hi!

I would like to reintroduce myself to the GYE family.

Some of you might not know me since I was absent for a while. But I have spent many countless hours over here in the past & was one of the reasons I had to take leave for I spent way to much time here then I was able to afford.

But its important for me to stay in touch so that I don't forget to keep my guard up & also that I try to help another person in any way possible to break free is only fair.

So I set up this corner of mine that I will try to put up some of my older posts & also this way I can try to stick to my corner so that I keep the time I spend on GYE under some kind of balance.

To all the Holy Soldiers on this battle front I say

"Ashrecho Yisroel!"

You can't Win if you don't Play!

Hold on just a little bit longer and we will be free!

Efshar L'Taken!

Although I barely know anything about you, nor have I read many of your posts, I tool the liberty to find the first gems you added to the forum:

Sholoim Aleichem Reb -?-,

Very creative name you chose. Thanks

Imtrying,
You took the words out of my mouth. As soon as I saw Kedusha post "Edited by himself I said to myself "is that his automatic signature? Or he just can't help himself.

In any case he means well.

Ya know what they say, "The road to hell was paved with good intentions!"

Kedusha,

Thanks for the heartfelt words with a touch of humor there. I did miss you guys.

May we all have a Guarded day.

Dear Efshar,

Your absence may have put you in a bit of a time warp (one of the minor side effects! ) - I've hardly done any editing in months.  What IMT referred to has nothing to do with what you may remember.

At the Purim Tish at One of the most choshove Rabonim from todays generation (who is very involved in todays problems including the one we faced & I introduced him to GYE about half year ago) Reb Binyumin Eizenberger Shlita there was this Purim Shpeel Debate as to what direction one should take in life in general.

Simcha? Or Lev Nishbar?

After the Purim Shpeel the Rav spoke & said that we need both & went on to explain that when we need a yeshuah that is Shelo K'Derech Hateva we need to break our mold & do some heavy Teshuva with fasting & a broken heart but if we just want for normal things to go better like a better income, a good shiduch, good health, an easier time in Avodas Hashem & so on then Simcha is the way to go.

Here's the question I'm putting out there & looking for some feedback please.

Based on what he said, Is the addiction we are struggling with something we should use Simcha to fight it? Or is it something out of the norm that needs the harsher way of Lev Nishbar?

I will be asking him this question at the next opportunity, but as for me personally I feel that they both have its cons & pros.

The good thing about a broken heart is that we feel so close to G-D but at the same time its on the border line of depression & one can get caught up in it.

On the other hand "Simcha" at all times works great only sometimes we may end up getting to comfortable with slips & falls because Hey! Never mind! I won't let it bother me and we may take this struggle a bit to light.

Let The Conversation Begin!

Start with a lev nishbar, and then approach it with simcha.  One cannot be meyaseid a total change in his life with mere simcha.  He needs a much more drastic shock, and lev nishbar is the way to go.

in the words of the 12 steps.....hitting rock bottom (lev nishbar venidkeh elokim lo tivzeh).....then take it one day at a time (simcha)

Thanks Reb S.E.

I hear what your saying but I have 2 questions.

1) What steps do we take to make sure that we don't go over the line from "Lev Nishbor" to "Atzvus"?

2) What do you mean by "one day at a time with simcha"?
