I have to be honest with GYE here. I may be being selfish and please tell me if I am, but I hate coming onto to GYE, clicking on the WOH or BF thread and finding that the same person responded to the last 15 people already. It is very frustrating and annoying. I also think it is annoying because the people that do it, usually dont give the well thoguht out answers that the the authors of the respective threads deserve. This practice is unfair and I feel should be terminated immediately by those doing. Like I said, maybe I am being selfish and if I am please tell me either on here or in a PM, but for my sake and the people who are calling out for help, please allow others to post as well.

I am confident that people have good intentions by doing it, but I think when people see the same "Great job! KUTGW" from the same person 15 times, they are not too inspired. They are looking for more well thought responses than that...

kotgw doesn't count as a response. As you may have noticed, the exact lashon used by 'simplemachines' is 'Posts'.   AND even a blank post it note is still a post it not....or is it?

But without getting into deep psycological discussions, Just ignore them, and give a thought-out answer. But please have rachmanus on those of us who use our TV time to post on GYE. It is with tremendious mesirus nefesh that we do so. And I hope the forum can continue to provide an outlet those those like me, who are above surfing the net, but have addictive tendancies to 's-xualy explicit colored pixels' (if you bring your drooling face close enough to the screen you will see what I am talking about, and mybe short circuit your monitor too! Hey try it...)

I suspect that you may not realize that the constant posters sometimes have a need to post and actually gain a lot from it... (either to stay away from worse sites or for the chizuck they get from overhearing themselves writing...)

The constant posters may sometimes have a need that you are affording them by allowing them to post...

If you think about it the net damage that it causes is minimal while the possible positive effect it can have on the poster (or maybe even on the receiver) can be quiet substantial

It's about weighing the pros and the cons

Suppose that you are right how does one go about it?

throw away a Jew who is himself in need? Tell him he can only post...how many times? 10? 5? 2?

Even if the response could use more than an uninspiring one liner, perhaps a well thought out response... Still, the one liner does no harm...

In addition I've just seen one new member post that he prefers to hear primarily from people with real solutions... So there is a way for someone with this preference to get what he needs...

I do get your frustration but It boils down to tolerance and sympathy...

For me, I like those in-depth responses, but I also appreciate those short responses.  Just knowing that another 5 or 10 people took the time to read my post, wanted to give some chizzuk, but didn't really have much to say that day.

Even my own posts, sometimes I write "112."  And that's it.  I've found it's really powerful--and sometimes life-saving, just to stay connected.  And sometimes I have more to say that came to mind.

Ok ok yiddle i get the point. 

1) as trying123 said, some of us need the posting to keep us away from other sites. And as he so well pointed out, when we write things we gain so much from it oursleves.

2) I just dont get it?!? If a guy doesnt enjoy it, then let him say something. why do we need to talk for others?? If someone doesnt enjoy that another person took the time out to read his thread, throw some chizuk his way, show that he cares, then let him open his mouth and say something.

3) There are so many problems with haveing a public forum. trust me, im sure there are many guys that dont enjoy alot of things that go on on the forum. But we need to learn to ignore it. We dont own the forum! We are guests just like the rest. So we need to do like many others do, take what we like and leave the rest. Why are we bothering ourselves about what others do. Someone on this forum just recently complained to me that he thinks some guys are so full of s*** and write the stupidest things. I told him listen its a free world and its a free forum. You take what you want and you ignore the rest!

4)And from my own personal expeirence, which btw i can back up by many pms i have gotten, a little word here and a little word there can go a far far way. I have gotten pm's from guys thanking me to no end for just stopping by on their threads. So you just never know.

5)And to me the ikker is; To each his own. Live and let live. even if you arte right about your point, who cares?? Just let it go!

I dont like it more myself. I am concerned about the people posting their problems but my main concern si for mysefl. As I asked in my original post "Am I being selfish here?" Like a few have stated, some people post to stay off of other sites. Well whos to say I am not one of them. When I see the same person posted 15 times in a row, it turns me off from posting. It is very hard for me o ignore that and respond to the original post. And furthermore, if posting is keeping someone off of bad sites, thats great! But write 2-3 well thought out posts. Not 15 "great job!" posts. I have already had soemone PM me saying that I am very right in this aspect, so I am clearly not the only one thinking this. And also (no order to any of this), Dont you guys feel like your losing your credibilty as a poster on thsi forum? When I see some of these people's post I often ignore them because I knwo what they are going to say. As opposed to someone who doesnt post as often but posts well thought out ones. As someone who privately agreed with me told me, when he posts he wants the response to be "to" them not "at" them.

I dont know who made that poll on the top of this thread, but I think its hllarious. I can take a joke.

I think this post may have been aimed at me. So goes life.

I know from my own experiences that I like it when someone drops by my thread - even if it's a two word response. Obviously, I like longer responses, but even just someone letting me know that they dropped by and read my thread, and cared enough to say hello.

The fact that I post on a lot of threads also doesn't mean that my responses are cookie-cutter. I try, as much as possible, to respond to each person's specific post and situation. And sometimes, I don't really have any good advice - and so I chose to just give them some chizuk, not because I don't want to think about them, but because I DID think it over, and that's what I decided my best option is.

And I think that some people appreciate when I post on their threads.

What’s the big deal, if someone is savvy enough to post I am sure they can figure out how to use the down arrow on the keyboard.

..........and just to bring out my point here goes. I just went to a guys thread as soon as i finished writing this and he left a long post there. Now i went through it and i agree and enjoy what he wrote. But i dont have any "ho'aros". So what do i do?? I want that the person should know that although he wrote a long post that i took the tine to read it and enjoyed it very much. So im gonna write something like " great post and keep on rollin". This "little annoying post" as you would call it, actually goes a far way. This person now knows i went through his post, enjoyed it and am rooting for his continued success. How else should i get that point through?? Write a whole long post full of bullshit and every stupid thing that has come to my mind over the last three days?? So instead i drop a "shorty" and i get a strong point through. Ive got more to say, but ill leave it at that.
