A GYE FACEBOOK GROUP




Bold, yes. But imagine how many new servers Guard will need to pay for when people flock to GYE by the thousands!

I'm sure it can be done discretely without being such an obvious plug for GYE that will give you away while at the same time being able to get the message out.

We may not even have to go that far, at least not for starters. There are shuls that I know of that have Facebook pages and send weekly messages via Facebook to their members. We can start by plugging GYE on these pages and weekly messages (with their consent of course...or you can just create a fake account and spam the GYE link on peoples' pages).

What we do must be within the guidelines of daas torah.  You have a great idea, and I have no hadracha to give. I'm stumped.


The idea is brilliant, the shuls sre all nebachs.  
And you are gonna have to do this one yourself.... like no-one else here has facebook. OK you'll have to do this one without me. But you can always access the GooG folder I created with all the letters posted on the site.    

Oh-yeh, just make shure that you delete your account after this 'ad campaign'.


Cons: Everyone here who struggles with facebook as an aspect of their addiction, will be drawn onto that shmutzfest, to promote this oasis of a website. (Yes GUARD you can quote me on calling this site "An oasis within the baren desolation of the web"  :D) This will definitely be triggering alot of people who should otherwise not be on there. But metzad sheini, the shuls who are anyway up there, and not leaving the site, should be a great venue for PR and Advertisements!!!

Would you open a pron site so you can have a GYE banner on top?

As for Facebook, I think that someone with Facebook should get rid of it, but if he isn't going to anyway, let him use it for the good and advertise GYE! Why not? No one is going to sign up to Face-book just because we are advertising there or have a Facebook page there.

good point bards.... but sadly alot of people up there aren't so anonymous about their internet veiwing habits.  It may be taboo, but cmon 'everyone has done it'.  So I wouldn't be surpriaed if ppl posted it, with a caption of "Ploni, I thnik you could use this" ,  or "I finnaly found you guys a site you can enjoy, without having to burn for it"

1. Stop with the "Daas Torah" talk. You all know my position on that.

2. I'll figure out a way to do it myself. What I really need is time.

Just one thing, search this site to find all the posts form the BUZZ fiasko.  

If someone adds GYE to their account, they are addmiting to being a SA....  Yes some people can pass it as a joke, but the problem still exists.

When Buzz started up, 5 full names popped up! and one woman even had a clear picture...in case you may C"V confuse her with someone else from her family!  Good luck with that!
