Has anyone pursued getting the message out through Chabad. They have so many means of delivering this message on a large scale; through Chabad Houses, email lists, the main chabad.org site and hundreds of local chabad sites etc etc.
Great Idea, just sent a message to chabad.org Anyone wanna help me send the following letter to every single channad center listead over here:
http://www.chabad.org/centers/default_cdo/aid/15676/jewish/Advanced-Search.htm I already sent to the website itself, in addition to:
Alabama ....out of time for now But keep working through all the states in alphabetical order! somebody is bound to spread our cause!
It's simple, just keep fillin-in the same info into every single form. Here is the email I sent (please no comments on the first sentnce it's technicly true) feel free to edit and improve it for me: The work of chabad may easily be the most powerfull, and far reaching kiruv effort worldwide! In recognising this, I come seeking your assistance. In the words of R Yosef Viener "I'm quite aware of what's going on in Klal Yisrael; and I will still say, that this is the SINGLE, BIGGEST problem facing us today - bar none. " Internet addiction has spread throughout the frum world, and all the more-so to Jews coming from more modern backrounds.
R shimshon Pinkus Zatz"l has a tape discussing the internet of his days, (dial-up slower than 57k) and yet every single word that he has said has been proven true, to even the biggest cynic. If only he knew HOW true. He brings a zoher that states that in the ikvesah demashichah the world will be a Va'ad Leznus. A vaad, he goes onto explain, is the collection of scholars for the pursuit of wisdom. And the area of intelect that our current generation will pool our great inds into, is the furtherment of znus (the entertainment industry). So far I have not put words into his mouth, the above is all his words. We have sadle seen the fulfillment of this, and the great power that these words yeild.
It can be easily seen, from the comments left on articles relating to internet addiction, that there is a great need for awareness. Awareness not of the sickness, but of the readily available cure! In short there is a website (2 years old) that provides many tools to aid in the recovery, and treatment of this addiction. The site itself is non-profit, and has recently received a Haskamah from Rabbi Aharon Feldman, a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America, in addition to a haskamah from Dr. Rabbi Avraham J. Twerski (who responds to questions adressed to him, on the forum).
I as an active member, and recovering addict myself, ask of you to please include a link for the sites hompage, at the bottom of every article dealing with this addiciton. Please give the readers a place to turn to, other than merely posting comments on the bottom of the article. As a bachur, I have no means to pay for this as an advertisement, but I ask it of you as a favor for klal yisael. The intention of the articles os to being every single Yid closer to hashem, but sadly this issue is far greater than an article. And the same way you would freely recoment a prospective BaAl teshuvah to seek a rabbi, so too you should provide an adiquate link to Please contact the website administrator for more info at
