We all know how much this site can benefit from funding, so why  not have someone , wit a good filter ONLY, search the web for a source of government funding. Even if we have to be a non-profit organisation, just wait a few weeks untill we get that title.  Please someone?  WHo is doing it, any volenteers? Cmon to search photos and vids you CAN do, but searching for the benefit of klal Yiarel you suddenly have a  wife and kids that you have been shutting-out. Excuses excuses...

This week I plan on anonymously sending in the mail a large envelope with both flyers, a personal (anonymous) letter and the Rosh Yeshiva's haskama to the few pulpit Orthodox rabbis where I live, encouraging them to post them on their shul bulletin boards and speak to the kehillos about this issue.

Guard, you're the original pioneer, the m'sha'leiach, and we're your humble shluchim, talmidim and chassidim we love you.

Yashar Koach in advance!

Hey all you moderators, please fill-in the blank:

I had a great idea. Everyone should sent adresses of the pulpit rabanim, and public darshanim, to this email ______________  and other people will volenteer to mail the letters. All we need to do is have someone supply the generic letter, can you do that kedushah? Ans we will all volenteer to mail these letters to rabanim we don't know!!!!

It costs 40 cents for the stamp, or at least it used to. If we all donated 80+ cents, we would have entire kehilot informed!! and we will see the surge in online activity over here!! Cmon who can supply?  who wants to give the adress of R matisyahu Salamon?

Here is an e-mail that I just sent to a popular Maggid Shiur.  Why not start with Rabbanim who have e-mail?  That can be a very efficient way to spread the message.

Dear Rav *******, Shlita,

A wonderful friend of mine has dedicated his life to helping Acheinu B'nei Yisrael who have fallen prey to the Nisyonos of the Internet.  His "Guard Your Eyes" program, www.guardyoureyes.org, has helped countless people in this sensitive area.

Rav Yosef Veiner of Monsey has made a remarkable statement: that the Nisyonos of the Internet are, without exception, the most serious issue facing Klal Yisrael.  The Shiur can be heard at this link (this topic is addressed from about 21:00-47:00).
www.torahanytime.com/scripts/media.php?file=media/Rabbi/Yossi_Viener/2009-07-30/Tisha_BAv_Our_Responsibility_Toward_Others/Rabbi__Yosef_Veiner__Tisha_BAv_Our_Responsibility_Toward_Others__2009-07-30.wmv

Yet, unfortunately, Klal Yisrael is, for the most part, in denial.  For example, Family First Magazine, which is published by Mishpacha, is currently running a serial called "Shattered Glass," which deals with a Kollel Yungerman who suffers from Internet addiction.  Mishpacha has received so many complaints that the author was forced to change the story line to something less threatening.

Just this week, Rav Aharon Feldman, Shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Yisroel in Baltimore, and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America, wrote a groundbreaking letter.  The letter is groundbreaking, in that it is probably the first by someone of the Rosh Yeshiva's stature to fully acknowledge the extent of the problem, and to further acknowledge that we're dealing with an addiction/illness, not with people who are evil and simply need to exercise better self control.  The Rosh Yeshiva gave a strong endorsement of the "Guard Your Eyes" program, including the website, as an effective way to help people escape from this painful addiction.  The Rosh Yeshiva’s letter can be found here.  www.guardureyes.com/GUE/Misc/Rav-Aharon-Feldman--GYE-Letter.gif.

Furthermore, due to the vital importance of the cause, Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski recently wrote a letter in support of Guard Your Eyes, making a very rare exception to his policy of not giving endorsements.  Rabbi Twerski’s letter can be found here.  www.guardureyes.com/GUE/Misc/Rabbi%20Twerski%27s%20Haskama%20med.jpg

I trust that you will find this information useful.  Please share the Rosh Yeshiva's and Rabbi Twerski's letters with other Rabbanim, and please recommend the Guard Your Eyes program for anyone who needs it.

Sincerely,

********

Looking for a voluteer to run a FREE AD ON GOOGLE !  Just read the rules over here http://www.google.com/grants/new/index.html and see if you are up to it. From what I gather you must continue this as a long-term project, so we need somebody who can make such a commitment.  Additionaly, get reshus from GUARD, since it IS his website, and once you get dropped from the program you cannot return.

So many people find this site using google, why not show it to others!!

I wonder if we're eligible before we've received IRS approval.

I think we may have an issue, since they don't take 'religios plrolytisation' site. But mybe a good lawyer can find us a loophole.

Sorry for going behind your back like this, GUARD, but I felt that it was for 'the greater good'. But seriously, they openly say that you only get one shot at this grant. So whomever does it, can't back away. He must consistantly moniter the advertising, and strive to get the word out there.  Efshar we should wait, until we have such a person (if we don't exactly have one now).

GuardYourEyes is a vibrant network and fellowship of religious Jews of all affiliations, struggling to purify themselves and break free from inappropriate behaviors stemming from lust addiction.

For the first time, a religious Jew has somewhere to turn for help in this area, as well as an entire network of tools, tips and group support to help break free from the insidious grasp of this addiction. All our work is free of charge (although donations are our life-line) and we zealously protect the complete anonymity of our members.

Note: Although GYE is designed for religious Jews, no sincere individual of any faith will be turned away in their quest to overcome their struggles in conquering lust addiction.

Great so who has the time to commit to this HOLY CAUSE?

I am getting the feeling that despite the effort i make to keep this post on the top of the page, no-one but Kedusha and GUARD do anything with it  :-\ . I can't commit to this, since my internet use is come-and-go. But I can help someone else start it.

For anyone who knows the email of ANY yeshiva, send it to me, and I'll send them an email.
