The approximate translation is: "Go down a level in marrying a woman."  In other words, don't marry a woman who is smarter than you (I know - all wives think they are ;D), of greater social status, etc.

Just in case you were really being serious, spouses are supposed to respect one another, and have numerous Kesuba obligations, but where does it say that they should be equals?
