This is more of a chizzuk post. Baruch HaShem I've been zocheh to a really amazing month after a close call and been able to stay a couple of steps ahead of the yetzer Hara. Last night was the first night of slichos, and let me tell you: the spiritual high I felt beseeching Hashem knowing that I put in 150+ clean clean standing in front of the Aron Kodesh... there is just nothing I can compare it to. Obviously there are more important reasons to keep clean but even if today is the first day, having something as tangible as this nisayon to know that I've taken active steps in my path to Tshuva has given me an entirely new perspective on Elul. 
Even if today is day 1, there's still a whole week until Rosh Hashanah, it's never too late to start
