If anyone can help me, I can very much use a quick answer:

My daughter's iPod stopped working. A relative wants to surprise her with a new one, and is asking which one to get. It seems that all iPods now allow you to watch videos (except for the iPod Shuffle, but that one doesn't allow you to choose which song you want). If at all possible, I would want her to get a model that is only audio capable. Any ideas (such as something offered by a competitor of Apple/iPod?).

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread.
Electronics recommendations are actually my specialty

I'm a big fan of the Sandisk Sansa series.
The Clip probably makes the most sense for your daughter, although it has an FM tuner.

Any of these would be great:

One question: I'm assuming that you can choose which song you want (unlike the iPod Shuffle, which doesn't have that capability). Is that correct?

Now my 13-year old son's 2 GB iPod died. He wants an iPod Classic, which (as far as I can tell) cannot access the Internet. My concern is that with 160 GB, it can be used to watch movies. On the other hand, if he were to use it for that, he knows it would be taken away.

He's not interested in the Sansa series. Ipod, after all, works much better with iTunes!

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
