This is a time where I feel like a GYE Chat Room would be so usefull. I am so bored and sitting at my computer. I am reading posts of people but they are kinda boring to be honest. Any advancements on that?

You are right. This is the next BIG feature that GYE needs to help people.

We've tried installing some free 3rd party software in the past, but it didn't work out so great for a few reasons.
1) Not enough options and administrator control
2) Bugs in the software (kept dropping the connections)
3) The widget had links to its host-website, and the website had bad links to bad chatrooms. This was very unhealthy for chatroom junkies.

So I think for the long term, we're gonna need to design our own chatrooms.
I spoke to a team of programmers in India, and I think we can get most of what we need for about $800.

Let's see if we can raise that right here on the forum. Anyone want a part in this new, groundbreaking tremendous Zechus?

We'll have two chatrooms IY"H, one for men and one for women, and you'll only be able to sign in if you're registered with us on the profile page, so we will know if you are a man or woman and you won't be able to access the other gender's chat room... One day, we might have even more chat rooms for other struggles, like SSA, or for spousal support... But let's start with this.

I know there's big demand for this... Here are just a few people who I happen to know LOVE to chat (at least I think they do): Yiddle, Loynata, Bardichev, Tomim, Uri...

And I'm sure once it's up, almost everyone on this forum will be using it. Whenever someone feels weak or in need of something safe to do and GET OUT OF ISOLATION (which is the number 1 killer in this addiction), they'll head to the chat room and exchange support, chizuk, experience, hope, and of-course lots of JOKES  ;D

P.S. And while we're raising money for this, maybe we can also find some donors to help chip in with the fees of making GYE into a legal non-profit corp. We have already begun the process and paid over $1,100 (with another $800 or so to still be paid). This is another HUGE zechus, because without being a legal tax exempt corp, we'll never be able to truly make the world-wide revolution that we hope to one day, with Hashem's help, which will require the "BIG" donations (and possibly even governmental grants)...

You aren't original enough to try impersonating them, by simply creating simmilar sounding usernames, so you just let them in???

It's not so hard actualy, just go dig-up some old threads from the junk pile, add a few WtEVr and KUTGW, and use a nickname like beebes  and try talking like a girl.....
