A Philospiphical Question

LeHavote Aish
There is a famous pasuk of Shlomo Hamelech's:
שבע יפול צדיק וקם
and our sages brought two explanations, one said by the טיפשים and one by the חכמים.
The טיפשים would explain it as that A tzaddik is one who if he falls he gets up.
The חכמים say that a Tzaddik is one who falls and gets up and the falls with the getting up is what makes him a Tzaddik.
Thus, here is my question, what would have been better, theoretically? If we would not have fallen and would have been clean always or our position right now where we fell to whatever extent we fell and now are healing?
I would love to hear interesting answers.
Aish.

Forgive me for offering a Torah-source instead of a philosophical answer.
There is a possuk which ends: כי נפלתי קמתי, כי אשב בחושך ה' אור לי
And the Midrash says: אילולא נפלתי לא קמתי, אילולא ישבתי בחושך לא היה אור לי
So that means that we needed to fall in order to get up into an upright position, and we needed to be in darkness in order to end up in a position of light.
As the sforim call it, a yeridah letzorech aliyah.
