You're 100 percent right. Women have a tayva to impress men. YET----this is not the reason they dress the way they do on a daily basis. (I understood that's what we were discussing.) A frum women doesn't put on a makeup and think ' oh goody, now all the guys on the strt will think I'm georgous". She knows she looks pretty and feels good about it. They would be horrified of the thought that they might have been machshil other men. And if she talks to a guy and he stares at her in that way, she won't feel good. She'd feel like she's treated as an object, instead of takin seriously. (Disclaimer:I'm talking about frum women, in general. There are always ppl who need attention and will get it any way possible)

I love you all dearly, and believe this entire discussion is l'sheim shomayim. I also have no desire to be a naysayer or otherwise yucky. Nevertheless, I have to admit to all y'all, that I cannot read some posts on this thread as I am too sensitive to them. Nothing horrible, just that they make me feel weirdly ticklish inside and my alarm is going off - for ME, not for anyone else. Just need to stay part of so must share that with my group and explain why I may be apart from in this instance.

Dear DOV=REBBEREBER,

It's wonderful how honest and self-aware you are...

I'm just curious, how is it that someone who is 11 years in SA and dumps all his goofy thoughts to others, and surely many people dump their goofy thoughts to you too –no? You've mentioned in the past how you make - and take - many program calls every day... So how do you handle when people tell you their deepest, crazy desires? Doesn't it set off the alarm?

Sometimes I need to tell them to stop, and I explain to them exactly why, in order to keep the relationship honest. Often I am suprised at how untriggerring stuff is and wonder if I am just dead, or something....
But between you and me, I believe that if the person sharing is not showing off at all inside, but really dumping because they want to get free of it and give it up, it just doesn't tend to come off as triggerring.
In other words, I have no idea, really....
