In case you didn't know,

there was a terrible tragedy in williamsburg on Motzi Shabbos,

a 21 year old couple (Heimishe) where going by cab to the hospital to deliver their

first child,

There cab was hit by hit and run driver and both where niftar.

The doctors where able to perform an emergancy c-section to save the child, but the

child was niftar today as well.

I find this story to sad for words, and I feel personally responsible (a bit) you know,

maybe if I hadn't been such a sh**ck Hashem wouldn't have had to send this wake up call.

Anyways, I feel a big hisorerus to do something lilui nishmasam, (not something big,

because it probably won't happen, but some thing small and meaningful and maybe we can

use this as an opportunity for growth...

I don't have any concrete plans yet but I'd like to hear if anybody else had a good idea,

and we could make maybe a kind of a group kabola (maybe even only for a short period of

time)

Also if anybody knows there full names (ie avraham ben moshe) could you post it here

p.s. even the goyim in my office heard of this story (and we live about 500 miles away from ny.)

This is a sad incident that took place and I hope my response doesn't come off disrespectfully.

Being sad for people like us, with our challenge is very dangerous. The percentage of people falling because they're down about something is extremely high.

Perhaps something we can do l'ilui nishmas this couple and their child is Ivdu es Hashem b'simcha (serve Hashem with joy).

exactly,
I'm not suggesting becoming sad, rather to capitalize on any hisoreus that may have come out from this.

we must never be sad

although, I think a lev nishbar from time to time will be helpfull..

I for one was thinking of not accessing my zone-out website (nhl.com) for at

least one day (I know it's not a very treifa website, but that's the reason why it's a good kabolah - it's sort of a kadesh atzmacha bimutar loch - a very small victory, so small that we almost don't mind following through, and we all know the klal - Pischu li pesach shel machat, vaani eftach loch pesach shel ulam.

*update*

Torah=simcha

Mishnayos=Torah

Does anybody think it's feasible to make a siyum mishnayos here on GYE?

I think I can manage 2 or 3 mesechtas (it shouldn't take more than a few minutes a day)

it would be rally beautiful if we could do taht and it would be an ilui for there neshamos, AND for ours (boy could we use it)

and if anybody thinks the whole shisha sidrei is too much maybe we can just do 1 seder (like moed or something)?

Step right up, Step right up!

Looking for anybody who wants to join me...
