(Also, for me getting "educated" on the consequences of my actions in Olam Haba or in the malachei chavala they create doesn't help me fight my yetzer hara when I'm tempted to fall.)

Who said that it's not supposed to be hard? It's very hard, but there are things we can do to make it "easier".

The shulchan Aruch says (paraphrasing) to stay very far away from women because once someone is ragil in it, it is HARD to stop.

But, many here have done it. So it CAN be done. You can too. Usually we need different tactics though. You can try really hard to bang in a nail with a screwdriver, but it won't work very well. We need to choose the right tools for the job. There are tools aplenty here. If the tools you used until now are not working, switch tools.

Just some food for thought.
