getting up is getting exhausting (why haven't I lost a few pounds from all that getting up?)...

staying fallen is unacceptable...so I am up for now...

I may fall again, but I KNOW I must get up...

Chapter One
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost…I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter Two
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend that I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter Three
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep whole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in…it’s a habit…but,
My eyes are open
I know where I am
It is my fault.
I get out immediately,

Chapter Four
I walk down the same street.

I don't really know you or your story. I just had one question for you: What are you doing to ensure that you don't fall again? When you fall, you must get up. This is true. But how are you planning to stop yourself from falling? Are you a member of SA? Do you go to meetings? Are you working the 12 step program? Anything else? if the answer to all of the above is "No. I am just fighting harder, and determined to keep fighting forever if necessary!!" then I'm sorry to say it, but it probably won't work. Wanting to stay clean doesn't keep you clean. Doing something about it might. If you are, then kindly disregard this message!!

dear friends, I am writing this. Because simply put I have given up and just don't know what else to do. Have gone through keeping clean for one and half years for two times and both crashed. Started the big book and 12 step meetings, and just don't get it. I feel this is it , and maybe I am the exception that the program doesn't work for. I simply don't know what is going wrong and what else I could or should do. Please help!
