Well said, Briut!

SR - as far as jogging in the winter, it's not always easy, but wear a scarf over your mouth and nose...or, doing a workout in your house can be helpful, as well.

Hey Cleanisrael.

Welcome to the forum and shkoyach for posting.
One great way to start working on this area is to get support.
You have this forum and maybe you can gather some emails and/or phone numbers of guys for support when you're in a time of need. My email address is doreshumevakesh@gmail.com.
This is not an easy area to work on and you get a lot of credit for caring and making an effort.
Have you seen and read the handbooks?
I've found them quite helpful.
Also, one of the most important things in this war against the yetzer hara is to not get down after falls. That is what he wants, because then we find it hard to do anything and we fall again and again.
Chin up and keep on trucking!

Again, welcome!
Looking forward to hearing more from you and about you, as we can all learn from each other.

Hi Giant Leap,

Don't hesitate to write what you are feeling for fear of depressing me. I assure you it won't.

As I understand it (and I'm no talmid chacham), the first step is to figure out strategies to stop doing what you are doing. Only later do you experience remorse for it and yearn to do teshuva and come back to Hashem.

I only mentioned teshuva as the ultimate goal. So don't be so hard on yourself! Try to connect with others as much as you can on GYE, and have plans in place for when you think you will fall. Draw as much support from us as you can, because it's near impossible to just "change my mentality around" alone.

I heard this from someone here : The YH doesn't really care about the averah per se, "he" cares about getting you depressed and full of despair afterward. So if you fell, it already happened, it was meant to happen! Now you must pick yourself up and keep on trucking.

Hi all,
I haven't been here in a very long time.
So, first, MAZAL TOV 7UP on the birth of your granddaughter!
(I'd use large fonts and colors, but I didn't want to insult you.  )

Second, just read the P.U.S.H. mashal and it's gevaldig!

Third, I wanted to let the sistas know that I haven't stopped thinking of you, and I pray you're doing well and are happy. Oh how I wish I know how you were doing. Couldn't I  get at least a weekly update on their matzav ruach and a progress report?

Remember...
GOTTA GO TO MOMO'S!
LET'S ROCK THE BOAT!
KEEP ON TRUCKING!
I HAVE RED LINES I WILL NOT CROSS, NO MATTER WHAT!
and most importantly...
LET GO AND LET G-D!

Hi

A couple of things.

Dov, I love you too, and I'm always fine with whatever you say. Thanks for your clarification and acceptance of different approaches. I wasn't trying to say which is the "right" approach either, because I don't think there is one. Each person has to find the approach that works best for him/her. I'm so glad you found an approach that works for you. You're right; I am trying the best I can. However, I'm still trying to find the approach that works for me where I am at now. I'm dabbling with a couple of things, and we'll see what happens.

Eye, since you like the vulnerability feeling and use it to get close to HaShem, it sounds like this is a good approach for you. But, listen to your heart (Y"hatov).
Eye, good you noticed the slip and stopped yourself. The biggest trick of the Y"H will be to tell you either that since you slipped, you might as well fall, or, that your slip was really a fall, so just fall further. Both are LIES, so don't listen to him!
Do as you're doing. Think how you slipped, make a better geder in that area, and keep on trucking.
99 is sooooo cool. 100 is cooler!

All the best,
MOMO

Hi Mr. Tahor, this is Mr. Tahor

Just wanted to welcome you and say that I identify with your situation and your frustration. I also felt for a long time that it didn't matter what tachboulos I did and what strategies I employed, I would always end up at the same place: on the internet. But, as you put it, being part of a "chevra", was a real turning point for me. I think that after enough time of making a sincere effort, and it sounds like you are making a very sincere effort, Hashem says "enough" and then something triggers an aliyah and things just get easier. The strength of the YH is curtailed just enough to let you see some success which builds on itself. Not that life becomes a walk in the park. But Hashem gives you the tools you need. I think finding GYE, and by finding I mean starting to post on the forum, was a turning point and I hope it will be for you too. And there is much more you can do if the Forum is not enough. You can get accountability partners, you can join phone groups etc. etc. Others can explain what GYE has to offer better than I can.

I'll conclude with what has become the watch-phrase here : Keep on Trucking!

How you doing today?  I was thinking about something you wrote a couple of days ago.  When the email came you just deleted it.  I think that was very smart but also a way for you to see how far you have come in your own journey as a personKeep on trucking!!!
