Hi SSBT, so sorry that you fell. But remember all the valiant fighting you did before you went down. And all the days that you made it through clean. You have not lost them, and you can do it again. You know it, you've done it already. So say it loud and proud.... FELL SHMELL, I"M GONNA KEEP ON TRUCKING!!!!!!!! Hang in there! Gevura!

I'm really sorry to hear that you are feeling so depressed. I can really relate to that. I actually just fell today also twice After my first 18 day streak in a long time. I went to the Mikveh soon after and I was feeling a lot better but what really made me feel the best is that I learned a really good second seder and night seder. I still feel the repercussions of falling but at least it took away my depression. Some one wrote to me (I don't know how to do a quote) to try and use this as a speing board that now you have a goal. To beat ur streak by even just one day. You are a great person and that's how you should feel when you meet with your friends and the fact that you fell doesn't make you bad. It just shows you actually that you are trying so hard and you are actually always working towards this holy goal. That's how you should think of yourself when you are with your friends. That you have a 24 hour job that you do. Its truly amazing. Stay strong and keep on trucking. Hashem can do anything as long as you let him. He hears your cries. He knows he knows that you are trying brutally hard. Hatzlocho and I hope this helps a bit. Newlife

Wow, that took guts. For me that's how I started this whole journey. I just couldn't stand myself anymore and I told her, I didn't even care what the results would be. The worst possible consequence was at that time better than the hell going on inside me. B"H she took it well and she became the catalyst for my recovery. It was the best thing I ever did in my whole life, and our relationship has become stronger than ever. Hang in there, the intensity of it will settle down, and you will be so much the better for it. Keep On Trucking!!!! Gevura!

I can relate to what you wrote. I from the yeshiva world & have dealt with SSA for many years. I am married + kids but....the SSA can really throw me off center when it hits. Welcome aboard, Nicolo. Can I ask whats up with the username? I know, tell me about it. Especially when it hits during the worst moment... Like Rosh Hashana, in shul or Neila or something. But this is what hashem want for me, and I am geting dangerously close to hosting a new pity party, so I just need to remember the following, as my Rebbi told me, "These are the cards that Hashem wants for you". If Hashem says that this is what I must deal with, even during Neila, then I guess I only have one way to go then, to keep on trucking forward!

Yehoshua, I don't know if my post is the one you saw, but it could have been.... I have come to realize that the SSA feelings and the lusting problem can be separated out and need to be worked on separately. There are the emotional/psychological influences from the past that drove me to SSA feelings, and there are things that I am working on to alleviate and rectify that, and hopefully diminish the yearning for those relationships that are wrong and cannot be. But at the same time I had a problem with M*** and P***, which is just lust like anyone else's regardless of what pictures we like to look at. And the same tools and methods apply to all of us. I am not doing a formal 12 step program, but I found that many of the principles are closely aligned with what is working for me. Davening hard, asking Hashem to help me and to take away the urge to lust, as well as watching my eyes and thoughts to the best of my ability. So hang in there, try to get close to Hashem in whatever way you can. He loves you as He loves all of us, and is waiting for us to call out to Him so He can help and heal us. And remember, the pain of stopping is good healing pain, so much better than the pain of acting out, which is torture to our soul. The freedom is waiting on the other side, you will get there. Keep On Trucking!!!! Gevura!

Hey Avraham613, Sometimes it helps to know that someone else is in the same situation. But if this gives you Chizuk for me its only 2 weeks and its starting to get shaky. Think about how far you've gone. How much you've accomplished. How many people would love to be able to say 4 months clean. You know, tonight I was walking and saw a pretty woman and tried to not look but I couldn't control myself until I said to myself "I have no power" my power comes from Hashem and that's when I was able to turn away. Keep on trucking and just know that every member of GYE is supporting and rooting for you. But most importantly, the Eibishter and yourself. You are your biggest fan just pat yourself on the back every moment you don't give in. Hatzlochoh and Keep up the Great work. Newlife

Hi Hurt, How's the trucking? Quote from: hurtandinpain on October 26, 2011, 02:23:43 PMlittle different. the pain is way too much to handle. just take away the nisoyin, not having to fight 24/7. look, i failed for 18 years. will fail again. will burn in hell for everytime i fail. what makes you think that now i "will" be able to handle it. i think the only solution is to die. We all wish it would "just go away", but we can't know Hashem's chesb onos. He put us here this way for a reas on, we are a part of His master plan. But every one gets the Kochos al ong with their tests. And He knows we are human, and does not expect instant perfecti on. All He wants is h onest effort and a will to improve. And like Shmeichel says, there are no shortcuts, we need to finish the job. And one dday we will look back and see how beneficial it was for us. Keep On Trucking, we are right here with you (look over in the next lane, that's me in the red and blue truck with the big tires ;D ) Gevura!
