I think we need to get to work on figuring out how to work this chocolate cake, considering all the diverse locations it's got to reach!

Keep on trucking, bro!

Hey Bards,

I was hoping somebody would raise this point on the forum since I've been experiencing exactly the same thing recently. The YH has been whispering to me, "why don't you just look at porn and masturbate, it will take away all your stress and anger and resentment."

I've been feeling really horny, so it's been quite painful to deny myself, but the only thing that keeps me going is the knowledge that (a) I'm doing the right thing and (b) giving in to our 'old pal' the YH would only greatly exarcabate our problems.

The worst thing is that because I have so much work I have to do, I don't have any free time for my healthy compensatory activities such as exercise and just doing what I enjoy. The result is I just have to grin and bear it and contain my urges, fustration and volcanic anger without the safety net of harmless recreation. Life is a bi*ch, but I'm determined not to make it a hell again. Being addicted once in a lifetime is more than enough.

Btw or should I say pssst Bards, you are a joker as well.

If there's one virtue the YH has, it's that he never stops working. That means we can never stop fighting. If only he was something physical I could smash into a pulp and trample on, I would feel so much better.

Keep on trucking. I want a Ferrarai though or maybe a batmobile.

Dov, that was a real deep one I think it needs some elucidation, My feelings are that my life is so full of disappointments that i wish Hashem would show his love more openly. Bard, your post really improved my mood, I actually laughed when i read it. Just keep on checking for me even while you keep on trucking.

Hey Bardichev, Struggle and Guard,

Thanks for all your great chizuk and advice guys, I appreciate it. Thank God I made it through yesterday and last night. Today I feel a lot better after not acting out in the past few days and just waiting for things to subside. I just need to survive this week and things should go back to normal.

Unfortunately Struggle, I wasn't witty enough to have deliberately thought of that sheepish pun, lol. Thanks for pointing it out though, you brought a smile to my face!

Bardichev, you are an entertainer.

I've thought about joining a 12 step group after your suggestion Guard, but the trouble is I live in London and I'm either asleep or at work when the sessions take place on the US eastern seaboard. However, your daily chizuk, handbooks and this forum are keeping me going one day at a time.

Thanks guys and keep on trucking, batmobiling, tanking, whatever,

DesertLion

How you doing today?  I was thinking about something you wrote a couple of days ago.  When the email came you just deleted it.  I think that was very smart but also a way for you to see how far you have come in your own journey as a personKeep on trucking!!!

Hi Mr. Tahor, this is Mr. Tahor

Just wanted to welcome you and say that I identify with your situation and your frustration. I also felt for a long time that it didn't matter what tachboulos I did and what strategies I employed, I would always end up at the same place: on the internet. But, as you put it, being part of a "chevra", was a real turning point for me. I think that after enough time of making a sincere effort, and it sounds like you are making a very sincere effort, Hashem says "enough" and then something triggers an aliyah and things just get easier. The strength of the YH is curtailed just enough to let you see some success which builds on itself. Not that life becomes a walk in the park. But Hashem gives you the tools you need. I think finding GYE, and by finding I mean starting to post on the forum, was a turning point and I hope it will be for you too. And there is much more you can do if the Forum is not enough. You can get accountability partners, you can join phone groups etc. etc. Others can explain what GYE has to offer better than I can.

I'll conclude with what has become the watch-phrase here : Keep on Trucking!
