that time of week again....

this week topic is eggs in the cholint

those who prefer to abstain from eggs in the cholint are kindly requested to meet with their sponsors and admit that they are powerless to resist the feelings of distaste at the thought of cholint-eggs and say the group prayer together.

for the non-stepper eggsters and the recovered who bravely go where no other anti-egger has gone we have some tips and tricks.

Choose some good eggs - i.e. not cracked, not stuck to the carton, no robin eggs, even though they add nice color, especially if you use purple ketchup

if your shviger is by you for shabbos, you have our sympathy and you should wash the eggs if she is in the kitchen when you are making the cholint

some people put the eggs in silver foil, not sure why, maybe to keep them from hatching overnight

last but not least, if you make eiyer mit tzvibel, it is extremely important to know the halachos about the oil, salt, pepper and eggs and who gets to jump in first. btw, that is why the Chasidishe yeshivos learn shulchan aruch more than the litvishe, because they have to make eiyer mit tzvibel
