I just realized that nobody posted on this thread on January 20th which is a pretty rare thing. Not sure if that's a good thing (cause people just arent depressed) or a bad thing (cause people are just not posting their depressive thoughts).

Here's one that made me laugh - it's from a site that sells stuff, but their product "descriptions" are usually very funny...

I think the problem was that they were not used to Rabbeinu Tam Tefillin!
Just as an alcoholic needs to avoid that first sip, a lust addict needs to avoid that first slip.Slip today? No way! ;)Fall today? No way, Jose'!

Guys - this happenned in parshas Bo, the mekor of mitzvas t'fillin. My son told me there were a few dozen hits on Wikiperia on "tephilin" the entire month until thids mayseh. In the past three days there were 85,000. Wheh He wants to teach us about t'fillin, He makes a way....yow!!
"Off the 18-wheeler and fine on this tricycle!", "I do not particularly care exactly which "lav" suicide is. I'm not interested in it for other reasons...and you are probably the same."

Beautiful thought!

Did you see the powerful Ramban at the very end of Parshas Bo? A well worth while read for everyone!!

And he ends with the words "and the nations of the land shall see that the name of G-d is called upon you" - which chazal say is a reference to Teffilin...

It's because of things like this, that I ask for permission 'to pray' in the BACK of the plane! But I always had the urge to pull-out my tefillin marker and scream "Ahlalalalalaalalala...." while 'depressing' the detonator button.

On second thought, that might be suicide! those flight martials carry guns!

I don't know if this is in the Ruach of this thread, (it was sent to me, and I am not sure whether it is a joke or for real) but I thought that I would post it anyway.

HOW TO STAY SAFE IN THE WORLD TODAY

Avoid riding in automobiles because they are
responsible for 20 % of all fatal accidents.

Do not stay at home because 17 percent of all
accidents occur in the home. (that's 37 % already)

Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks because
14 percent of all accidents occur to pedestrians.(now that's 51%)

Avoid traveling by air, trains or buses, 16 percent of accidents
involve these forms of transportation. (that's 67%)

Of the remaining 33 percent, 32 percent of all
deaths occur in hospitals. Above all else avoid hospitals.

You will be pleased to learn that only
0.01 % of all deaths occur in a synagogue,
and these are usually related to previous physical disorders.

Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any
given point in time is in Synagogue.

Torah Study is even safer. The number of deaths
during Torah Study is too small to register.

For safety's sake, go to Shul as often as
possible, and attend Torah Study.
It could save your life!
