On a more serious note, I have nothing against Chumros, and practice a few myself. However, much more important than Chumros is to follow the Shulchan Aruch, especially in areas of Halacha that make up the entire foundation of our Yiddishkeit. Once we've done that, any Chumros are icing on the cake.

Uri,

That post was SPOT ON. The "shkoyach" think is really irritating. The thing about the dogs is so true, so true. I never understood it. Dogs are man's best friend. I seriously saw a girl get out of a van, see a little poodle down the block that couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 pounds, and run back into the van out of fear from that dog.

Hey, maybe people like that don't grow up around animals. I did, so I'm not bothered by them.
