This isn't a feature on your phone plan - it's apparently a feature on google voice. And yep...just checked it out - should work. Click "settings," it's one of the options in the "calls" tab.

? There's a box you can check so that your phone will ring with your GV number showing on caller ID.

Oh no no I was talking about making free calls. Someone said you need to put it on the list of numbers thats your carrier allows to call for free. I dont have that feature because my plan does not have enough minutes on it.

I think I'm going to change my user name to "Aino Nymoos." It sounds so much more Heimish un Yeshivish. Oyy vus ken ich tun?

Nu, so did you do it?
Would you at least do me a favor and change "Ano" which could be read as "Annoh" ; "I".
So that could be understood as "I am nim'as" (!)
Gezunteheit.

Unfortunately this wont work for me because I do not have that feature on my phone plan. Apparently it doesnt come with all plans. I guess you need to get a minimum of a certain amount of minutes for my carrier. :'( :'( :'(

You can still join the calls via a free "skype" kinda connection.  But you need a computer & internet.  voice.google.com

skype calls to land line phones cost money. Only the computer to computer calls are free.

I meant the skype part will be a requirement for a computer. But voipcheap lets you call phones from the computer for free. Better than skype.

But my previous instructions on google voice are even better than voipcheap. voipcheap is a max of 300 minutes. gvoice is unlimited.

The most common "complaints" about being able to use the phone for recovery are as follows:

1) I am afraid of giving out my phone number.
2) I can't afford to call long distance because
    a) I only get free local calling or
    b) I only get free incoming calls
3) I don't have a private phone line I can speak on

Google voice can solve ALL these problems - the table below corresponds to the "complaints" above

1) Google provides a FREE and ANONYMOUS phone #. This number can be forward to ANYWHERE IN THE US and can be forwarded simultaneously to up to 4 numbers.
2) Google allows you to call anywhere in the US for FREE as follows:
    a) If you have free local calling, you can call your google voice # and then use it as a calling card to call anywhere in the US for free
    b) If you only have free incoming calls, you can logon to your google voice account, and then put in the # you wish to reach. Google will then call YOU first, and then call the person you wish to reach. This means you will always be receiving incoming calls
3) If you need a private line, google voice can be forwarded to computer phones. Both sipgate.com and whistlephone.com provide free computer phones that google can forward to. All you need is a microphone and headphones (or a headset - I like this one: www.google.com/products?q=cyber+acoustics+ac-201&aq=1&oq=cyber+acoustics+ac) and you will have a private line to use.

To sign up for google voice visit voice.google.com

If you need any help setting this up, feel free to get in touch with BecomeHoly who is using gmail.

Enjoy :-)
