I have lots of gratitude to Hashem for getting me hooked up with someone who sat with me on a Sunday afternoon for FOUR HOURS and patiently guided me in working Steps 2 & 3 in the Big Book. That is when I reached a new understanding of what the Jewish religion is REALLY all about.

It dawned on me that all my resentments, fears, and disillusionment with Yiddishkeit were based in my own misconceptions! I was not practicing Yiddishkeit. I was serving some false God of My Imagination. My religion was VERY SIMILAR to Judaism. To an outside observer it might have looked like the real thing, in fact, I even fooled myself!!

That is pretty much the jist of my step 2 also. I came to believe that I was my Higher power all along.
