Heard an old anecdote a few minutes ago:

A boy, strolling along the coastline, found thousands of starfish washed up on the seashore. He started picking them up one-by-one and throwing them back into the ocean.

A wizened(?) old man passed and asked him, "There are thousands of starfish here. Do you really think that you can make a difference?"

The youngster gingerly tossed another fish into the water and replied, "For THAT one I made a difference!"

One Day at A Time.

One Yid at A Time.

One 'Star' into the 'See' at a time.

This is a very true idea on another level - sometimes there are things where we alone can't make a difference. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't do our part, even if we don't see other's doing theirs.

I am alone in the office & the Yetzer' is strong.

I want to go home NOW...
The YH wants me to stay....

Who will win?

"Ribono Shel Olam, You said that the YH is stronger than me. it is not 'even teams'. Since the two warring sides are not balanced anyhow, why don't YOU come on my side?"

It's the first Rashi in this week's parsha. To save yourself from Vayikor and the tumah associated with it you have to do what malochim do "vkora zeh el zeh" they call out to one another. Continued hatzlacha and keep reaching out for help when needed.

Another post which I removed from another thread after I was told that it may be too harsh:

Bikeish Yaakov leisheiv b'shalva - kafeitz alav rigzo shel Yosef... The Torah is NOT just a storybook, it is teaching us how to live our lives! What is the lesson in this Rashi? That as long as we are alive we will be given opportunities for growth. Sitting back & enjoying the 'fruits of our labors' is reserved for the better world!

L'fi aniyas daati, this website has a wonderfull side to it, but at the same time, it can also (chas v'sholom) spoil someone who is BH not "there" yet . I am particularly refering to some of the stories which are posted. This is very much the geder of M'tamei Tehorim & M'taher T'maim.
I think a system should be introduced where only members should be able to read these stories and only after they have received some sort of screening.

GYE welcome to our site and thank you for offering how to revamp the site in your very first post.  We would like to implement the screening system ASAP, so please fill out the following brief survey:

I am a ____ (tohor) ____ (tamei).

Check all that apply:

___ I don't know what porn is.
___ I can't stop looking at porn, but I'm not an addict.
___ I can stop looking at porn if I wanted to, but for some reason I don't want to stop.
___ I'm an addict.  So there I said it.
___ Porn is not my problem, I'm just here because I'm curious
___ I masturbate __ daily __ weekly __ monthly
___ I don't know what masturbation is but reading the last question makes me want to find out.
___ I have acted out live
___ I am an actor but what does that have to do with GYE

Note:  All responses will be kept confidential.  Hatzlacha.  If after filling out the survey, your screen goes blank, congratulations, you have been deemed to be tohor and this site is not for you.
