WOW!!! Isn't it spectacular? I just posted my 100th GYE themed Ha'oroh!!!

When I started, I didn't dream that I would find so many things in so many places!

This a clear example of Lekka midda d'lo remiza b'oraisah!!! There is NO thing that is not to be found in the Torah!!!! After all, Hashem used the Torah as a blueprint for creating the world, if it is not in the Torah there is no way that it can exist!

.......And this is my 600th post!
(The 150th post in this thread.)

Agreed.

I am definitely still in the category of Asher lo avadu!

BTW, thanks for reading/responding.

A&W Moment:

I was driving along a quite country road and needed a place to stop for Mincha as it was getting quite late. Noticing a Self-Storage facility from afar, I decided that that spot would be good enough for me to pull into their parking lot for a quick tefilah. As I was turning off from the road I saw a changeable message sign hanging right below the main sign. It read: 'Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - It has no point'.

I was floored!

Here I was, stopping for a quick mincha at the side of the road, out in the middle of nowhere, and Heshem sent me a PM, a personal message: Hello? Don't think I forgot about you. I am over here too! I am listening to your Mincha even when you are alone in the far-off spot!!

Can anyone suggest a better introduction to tefila than this?

Didn't think of it!

Now that I am thinking of it, maybe the last few post would also fit into that thread? On the other hand, since this thread serves as a journal of sorts. (This is the place where anyone following my progress can peek into my life.) I think that they should be gathered in this spot.

To 'quote' them or copy/paste in that thread is also an option.

Any thoughts or other perspectives on the matter are welcome via PM.

A&W Moment:

Last night, my wife and I were shlepping a bed to the basement. As we were nearing the staircase leading down, my wife suggested that maybe we should leave it there and I should ask my upstairs neighbor to help carry it down.

Just as she finished speaking we heard his footsteps coming down the steps from his apartment! I promptly opened the door and requested his help. The bed was in the basement within a few minutes.

Always remember: Hashem is in control! (Whether we see it or not!)

A&W Moment:

Shabbos eve., as I was singing the zemer Kuh Ribon Olam, my foot suddenly started slipping. Although I caught myself immediately, I remembered what I learned on GYE & The Calls that everything is a message from Hashem. So I started to think what can the message that He is trying to send me be? After a moment's thought I realized that in the beginning I had been concentrating on the words that were coming out of my mouth but by now I was already daydreaming. As I returned to reality I took notice of the words that we were singing: Ravrivin uvdeich usimhaya, machich ramayu v'zakif kefufim - How great are your deeds & wonders! You you lower the high ones & straigten the crooked ones!

"Hashem, I heard your message! I heard it loud & clear!"

As we prepare to exit the year 5770, it is a time to make a reckoning of how the year passed. How it started with guilt & regret for all the garbage I was living in, along hopes and prayers for Hashem to help me get out of it. The format was exactly the same as the year before, and the year before that, and the year before that.....

The year 5770 turned out differently though! The year 5770 was the year that Hashem showed me his mercy. It is the year that, on 20 Teves,  Hashem led me to the great and holy Guard Your Eyes Kehilla!!! This is the year that the shackles binding me began to loosen! This is the year that I learned what it means to have Emunah in Hashem! (I am still very very far from it, but I am beginning to learn what it means. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is far away, but already in sight!) I thank Hashem for the wonderful year that he granted me, while I also beg him to please give us all another good year too!

Now, as the year draws to a close, is an opportune time to express appreciation & gratitude to all of you who acted as Hashem's shelichim in leading & prodding me along the proper path!

This merit will surely escort you in the upcoming Yom Hadin. I pray that Hashem grant you all a ksiva v'chasima tova, a happy & healthy year, a year of peacefulness & freedom - true freedom!

A&W Moment:

The first day of Rosh Hashana, as we were saying "Avinu Malkeinu Ein lanu Melech ella atta" at the conclusion of Shacharis, I looked at the clock.

It read:11:11

Just ONE king!!!!!

Amazing!!!!

Hashem lifted his veil for a moment for me to peek in & SEE that he is really there listening!

A&W Moment:

1st day Rosh Hashana, shortly after kedusha of shacharis, a 'memory' comes to mind, it is extremely vivid! It triggered.... "Oh boy! Not today! Not when I am standing in shul, wearing a white kittel, saying tehilim! I can't have SUCH thoughts NOW."

The next thoughts that came to mind were: I have learned what it means to 'give it over to Hashem' when in moments of RID, but until today I have never understood how that is done when the 'urges' are active..... But, it doesn't hurt to try.

So I asked hashem to clear them away.
He did!
They were back 5 seconds later...

Remembered reading that this can/should be repeated over & over
again & again...
and then some more...

Finally, it started to 'dim' somewhat.

I continued saying Tehilim, I was up to Perek 13.
The ENTIRE PEREK WAS "TALKING" ABOUT MY PREDICAMENT!!!!!
Asking Hashem:
Till when will you be away from me?
Untill when will I try to use my OWN eitzos?
Until when will I be in this stae of depression?
Until when will my Enemy say "I won him"?
I rely on YOUR kindness, I sing to YOU HASHEM, because you have bestowed on me!!!!!!!!

I was overwhelmed!

I wanted to share it with someone! A pity I didn't have a cellphone in my pocket...
