Holy Guard If I would come to the Bar Mitzvah you probably would ask me to say a few words (they always do :D :D ;D ;D ;D)

here is what i will say:

why is it that we call it a Bar Mitzvah- literally a "son of a mitzvah" as opposed to a baal aveira?

answered the holy Chofetz Chaim:

"baal" in lashon hakodesh can also mean a husband, a husband can get rid of hiss wife by granting her a divorce.

so too an averiah we can get rid of it by divorcing it, thru tshuvah

on the other hand a son can never ever be divorced from his father

the same goes with a mitzvah, we are always a "bar mitzvah" we can never get rid of the relationship to Our Father that we create when we do a Mitzvah.

may the Bar Mitzvah Bucher grow up to be a true "Bar Mitzvah" and become a great mezakeh es harabim like his holy father!!!
