This is big news, and you heard it here first!

It has been called to my attention that there is a great need for a forum for moderators who are addicted to modifying other people's posts, an addiction that is gaining widespread recognition in the psychiatric community.

And so, Guard Your Edits was born!  There's no need to suffer any more!  Learn how to read other people's posts, with all their mistakes in spelling/grammar/punctuation, and sit back, smile, and do nothing!

Learn the best-kept moderator's secret: the laziest moderator on the forum is, generally, the most popular one!

I have joined the new GYE forum and, you may have noticed, my edits have become fewer and further between.  My apologies to anyone I offended before I began working on this addiction!

Is there a mechitza for female moderators? :-\

This new forum is the (edited material) idea I nave ever heard, and who the (material edited due to content) do we think we are, anyhow? What this (edited again) forum really needs is a good (material edited due to stupidity of content) and some (material edited due to (edited) nature of content) for a change!

For moderators who need a little extra assistance holding back their edits, Rage is starting a 12-Step Program by telephone.  In his inimitable style (how's that for an understatement!), he has named the program "No Moderator Left Behind."  (There were 16 spelling errors in the title, but I took the liberty of correcting them.  I know.  I know - cut me some slack - it's an addiction!).

Thanks.  I'm not talking about where the need to edit is clear, compelling, and a no-brainer.

I used to struggle with this a lot...

But today, when I wake up in the morning, I say a short prayer and surrender my editing rights for that day to Hashem.

And I say the serenity prayer:

G-d, help me edit the things that need to be edited.
And accept the things that shouldn't be.
and the wisdom to know the difference.
