I know this response is a little late, but was that a suggestion to go all the way? That going halfway is worse than going all the way? I don't really get what you were saying...  ???

I was referring to the pleas for help from 'Dreamvision' where he gave zero details about exactly what he wanted to do or was fighting doing. That kind of plea for help is certainly nice, but does not typically help at all. In fact, while it seems to be a step forward to get free, it (being completely ineffective) can really be just a way of making ourselves feel like, "Well, I tried - I mean - like, what more do You want me to do here, Hashem?!" 

So the halfway-opening-up really ends up being another piece of evidence to us that we cannot succeed and that there are no more tools out there!

But yeah, that's definitely true. When I first came to the site, I read the attitude guidlines and had a good week. But then I fell and was like, Ok I tried and it didn't work. Next.
Obviously there's a lot more to the site and I'm glad I kept looking through it!

In SA and the other 12 step programs we say "It works if you work it". Really, "It" doesn't work, at all. Your work - what actions you actually take for your recovery - is what opens the door and 'lets' Hashem help you. Till then, He typically does very little for a person's actual recovery, if anything. In fact, habo litamei, pos'chin lo!

BH i was able to control my self , its hard to start thinking when your feeling the urge the yetzer hara blanks out everything
i was able to keep in mind 3 words, KEEP ON TRUCKING !
i left the city running to the train station, i then opened up my blackberry and the saw the daily chizuk email in my inbox
i read the story from "onelife" - Hashem paid me in cash , i got a tremendous boost of energy and inspiration
im really looking forward to reach the 100 day Mark
This morning on the train i started to read the Handbook for the 2nd time, much more exciting.

Thanks for the immediate response, the forums are excellent i still feel a little alone though , i think i express myself best talking to someone. i'm a little embarrassed though
As i approach the 90 day mark the yetzer hara is throwing bombs at me, with Hashems help im keeping my foot on the pedal.

Here's the key to your recovery. Hashem's help and the community. Hashem wants to help you so badly, Kavayachol. Just let Him do His thing. .. and stick with the fine Chevra here on GYE.
