Thanks a lot, dov. You made a very good point and I know that I look at p**n and mas****ate a lot less when I find something good to occupy my time with.

I generally don't try to use Torah, Yiras Shomayim and the like to address this addiction as it does not really seem to work for someone who is not just tempted but is actually ill with the disease of addiction.

However....I have found that learning while walking down the street is a really amazing tool to not be distracted by all the triggers that are ever-present...and its nice to get to know a lot of mishnayos by heart.  Just add a few words per day and before you know it they really start to pile up.

if occupation makes it much easier for you to hold back -as it is by me-, why not put some effort and think about something you would enjoy doing (for me i thought of learning how to type fast, so i downloaded a program, and b"h its way easier to control myself, and in the same time i'm improving my typing, although I've a long way to go)

Hey guys I'm at home alone right now (I'm visiting my family)  and there is a computer in the house without a filter. My tavvah is really setting in... I know how detrimental this will be to me, especially since today is my one week mark. I really don't want to do it, I want to get out of the house as soon as possible. However, none of my friends are answering their phones.

Any thoughts on how to stay strong?

Keep in mind, I'm not in the state of mind where I'm thinking rationally.

Ahhhh that was my friend Baruch Hashem, I'm going over to his house now. Just hope I can manage to get out of the house without touching that computer downstairs. Pray for me yidden!
