I have worked with individuals who struggle with addiction when I was working at a private agency in Encino. I am also certified as a DV counselor, and in our community have dealt a lot with couples issues including addiction. I used Motivational Interviewing, CBT and PST as some of many different intervention methods to help the client.
I have a lot of experience working with Orthodox Jews, I have also dedicated my thesis and my Dissertation to working with Orthodox Jews. I myself practice as an Orthodox Jew and have a Rav that I consult with about complicated issues, with the client's consent.
I believe that a therapist needs to tailor the treatment according to what the client needs. I use different types of intervention with different client, I first consult with my client, let them know what modalities I think would be useful and use the one the client also feels comfortable with. I have used CBT, PST, Motivational Interviewing, different forms of meditation, relaxation exercise, and I am very familiar with attachment theory.
