I work with a number of "key issues" that have to deal with sexuality. Not only lust addiction etc.
I have, so far, worked exclusively with the Orthodox community.
I do not work exclusively with lust addiction. I work with couples that are struggling, women who have husbands that are (I am waiting for the phone call from the woman who is addicted!). I have very strong philosophies about how to deal with sex "issues" and addictions. Can we be frum and be human? Can we laugh at life and ourselves even when we feel completly lost and out of control? Can Hashem and the community accept me for with my struggles?? Can I? I live in the chassidish city of Beitar and I see more than what anyone could imagine. I also see more strength than you can dream of.
I like to use DBT methods as well as more of a direct form of therapy. I won't play games or manipulate. I try very hard to work with the client to learn how to pay attention to cues and notice nuances and dynamics on their own. I am not at all playing the shots I am just directing traffic and allowing this person- this couple- to find themselves. To find happiness, love, Hashem!, to find peace.
There are some philosophies that I adhear to that work on "quickies" we call it. (Short CBT type therapy.) But I do not love it for addictions. As a Chardei woman, I do not see men privately, but I do see couples, women, families etc.
I wish you so much hatzlocha on your path. Hashem should be with you- and you should feel it!!
