The methodology is based on finding the emotional vital aspect of the addiction act. This will help the addicted person to understand what his addiction act provides to him, in term of vital emotional "food". Then, the person will learn how to find this "emotional vital food" inside himself, without going through the addiction act any more. For a concrete example, please read below "intervention model"
The reasons of addictions can be very different from a person to another, often depending on the identity "construction" of each person, and his specific life.
So the approach is always the same: by specific questions, open new reflexions areas to allow the person to deeply understand the reason of his act. And especially the uncontrolled repetition of his act, which is, most of the time, contrary/ opposite to his real will. This confirms the "vital" aspect of the act, that is linked to an aspect of his identity construction.
The goal of the therapy is to target this problematical aspect of his identity, in order to help him to "re-interiorize" this specific aspect, and almost automatically, the vital reason of the addiction disappears, and the person is cured.
